About Your Therapist
Meet Emily Hanlon, LISW-S
Part of you feels tired of trying so hard. Another part still senses that something inside could feel different.
Most of the people who find their way here aren’t new to inner work. You’ve reflected. You’ve learned. You understand your patterns. And still, something feels unfinished.
My work is for people who want more than insight. It’s for people who want their inner world to feel quieter, steadier, and more like home. I know this place well. In my own therapy, I gained insight and learned skills, but there was still a constant feeling that I needed to be better. That if I just tried harder, I would finally unlock a new and improved version of myself.
Those striving parts of me eventually led me to explore mind-body approaches that offer a different way to approach change. Approaches that work with deeper layers of experience, not just the thinking mind. Approaches that create real internal movement, not just understanding. This is the kind of therapy I now offer.
In our work together, you won’t be asked to perform or rush your process. You will be invited to slow down, listen inward, and gently work with what your system has been carrying. Over time, old patterns soften. Your reactions begin to change. Relationships feel steadier. You start to feel more like yourself again.
I don’t take lightly the trust it takes to enter this work. Growth can feel tender and uncomfortable at times, and it can also hold humor, warmth, and connection.
What guides my work
Healing is not linear.
Growth moves in cycles, not straight lines. There is no single “right” way to heal.
You carry your own inner wisdom.
My role is to support your connection to yourself, not replace it.
You are worthy of care, belonging, and respect.
Not after you fix yourself. Now.
Your context matters.
Systemic issues shape our world, our development, and our stories. This work holds space for the ways sexism, racism, homophobia, ableism, and fatphobia affect our individual and collective traumas.
A few human details:
I was a late-diagnosed ADHD-er. I can happily disappear into side projects and new hobbies. I am, however, very reliable for sessions.
I love thrift stores, antique shops, and wandering places that feel a little off the main road.
My first degree was in journalism, and I still carry a love for writing, storytelling, and thoughtful design.
Space for Presence
Emily’s office space is designed to help your body exhale before you ever say a word. It’s calm, grounded, and intentionally welcoming, with room to settle comfortably.
Clients often describe feeling seen without being analyzed and supported without being pushed. Therapy becomes a place where anxiety is met with curiosity rather than urgency. From that place, change unfolds naturally.

Why Spiral Path?
A spiral is how real growth actually moves.
We expand.
We contract.
We return, over and over again.
So much of life teaches us to expect straight lines. If we work hard enough, everything will finally fall into place. But being human includes uncertainty, grief, change, and seasons we can’t control.
Spiral Path reflects the way healing truly unfolds. Not as a finish line, but as a deepening relationship with yourself over time. One that brings more steadiness and more self-understanding.
